This section describes the basics of operating the MTG Comm
+
application. The
following information is located in this section:
Requirements for transport stream files
Instructions on how to start and exit the MTG Comm

application
Descriptions of the elements in the application window
Descriptions of the functions available through the pull-down menus
Tutorials containing procedures that show you how to transfer files between
your PC and the MPEG generator
The MPEG generator comes from the factory with sample files loaded
on the hard drives. To prevent the loss of these files, it is recommended that you
use MTG Comm
+
to save copies of these files.
Transport Stream File Requirements
MTG Comm
+
can transfer three types of files: stream files, insertion files, and
preset files (must have file extensions of .set).
When you download a file from the PC to the MPEG generator, you must
transfer the file to the correct folder in the MPEG generator, depending on the
type of file. Stream files must be transferred to the /main/usr/ts directory,
insertion files must be transferred to the /main/usr/insert directory, and preset
files must be transferred to the /main/usr/preset.
